I can almost classify this as an impulse purchase, IF I stop using it.
Tonight I went to Walmart and grabbed two "Athletic Works" items.
First and most useful to me:
An Ab roller. $17.00 on sale, regularly $19.88. Yeay, $2.88 off something I was going to buy eventually anyways!
Its not exactly portable, not entirely easy on storage space... BUT:
After a relatively easy assembly, I set it on the floor and started doing crunches.
I have back problems so being able to support my neck was an absolute blessing!
I've always had trouble doing sit ups & crunches because I never have anyone to hold my feet and keep me from wiggling and sliding. Problem solved, I didn't move a muscle! (er, besides the ones I intended on moving)
Now I've seen about a billion of the different "portable ab machines" and I'm surely not interested in spending $40+ on something I might end up using as a laundry basket holder. From my experience if your looking at buying a product specifically for abs, this cheap model is the way to go.
Next was the Yoga Mat.
Nonslip, extra padding, carrying strap... and its NEON PINK! My daughter is absolutely ecstatic. She has no idea what a yoga mat is, or why I was carrying it on my shoulder... but since its neon pink it has her vote.
I picked the cheapest one available, and for some reason the soft foamy padding on this one seemed a lot more supportive and durable then most of the pricey mats. And at half the price, if it lasts half as long I'll be happy.
$10 at wally world for the Athletic Works Basic Yoga Mat.
I stuck this badboy on the floor as soon as I got home and got my Ab Rocker assembled, hopped on and started doing crunches.
Owwww maybe I should have started with like 20... gotta work myself into this!
